Employee Access Terms

Terms that apply to employees whose payroll data is processed through FinVeil.

Last updated: 16 April 2026

These terms are under active legal review. Current version effective 16 April 2026.
These terms apply only where your employer subscribes to FinVeil's Wellness Suite product. If your employer uses FinVeil purely for payment infrastructure, no personal data or score is collected from you.

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to you if your employer uses FinVeil and your payroll data is processed through the platform. Your employer is the responsible party for your personal information under POPIA; FinVeil processes it on their behalf.

2. Consent

Your employer is required to obtain your consent before uploading your payroll data to FinVeil. You may be asked to confirm consent directly through the platform. You have the right to withhold or withdraw consent at any time without penalty, though this may limit certain services your employer can provide through FinVeil.

3. What data is processed

  • Payroll amounts (gross, net, deductions) uploaded by your employer
  • Deduction categories (e.g., loan repayments, garnishee orders)
  • Employment metadata (department, salary band, employment start date)
  • A financial stress score derived from the above data

FinVeil does not receive your name, ID number, or bank account details. Your employer assigns an anonymised employee reference for use within the platform.

4. Your data rights under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information FinVeil holds about you (Section 23)
  • Request correction of inaccurate information (Section 24)
  • Request deletion of your personal information (Section 24)
  • Object to processing of your personal information (Section 11(3)(a))
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

To exercise any of these rights, contact your employer's HR department in the first instance, or email privacy@finveil.money.

5. Withdrawal of consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time by notifying your employer or by contacting FinVeil directly. On withdrawal, FinVeil will cease processing your payroll data within 5 business days and delete your records within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

6. Access to your stress score

If your employer has enabled employee-facing access, you may view your own financial stress score and the factors contributing to it. This score is generated algorithmically and is intended as informational only. It does not constitute financial advice.

7. Security

All personal information is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. Your data is isolated within your employer's tenant and is never shared with other employers or third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

These terms should be read alongside the Privacy Policy.
